FREE COMMUNITY THEATER WORKSHOP

Randy Ford, owner of El Ojito Springs at ArtFare, is giving free workshops to the community for the next several weeks, culminating in a performance.  The featured play is Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize winning classic “A Streetcar Named Desire”.  Memorable characters to be studied include: Blanche, Stella, Stanley, Eunice and Mitch.  Workshops will be ongoing thru November.

Mr. Ford, a playwright and acting coach, is presenting the workshop in cooperation with accomplished actor and instructor Orlando Montes of Zingari Theater Groups and the workshop group will be meeting Monday thru Friday at 5 pm at 39 N. 6th Avenue, conveniently located across from Ronstadt Bus Terminal for those who’d like to save a little gas.

This workshop is great for the beginner who is curious about stage acting, the new actor who would like to increase his or her acting chops as well as the seasoned actor who would like to add this unique style of character development to the resume. Additional aspects of putting on a play will be discussed including set design and the duties of a stage manager.

Participants will have the opportunity to examine and explore the characters from “Streetcar” while learning new acting techniques.  All ages are encouraged and you need not attend all classes.  You are not required to register in advance and there are no fees for participation.  There is no minimum number of participants for the workshop and no maximum. For more information, contact Gabriele Andres at 520-982-0520 or email elojitosprings@aol.com

ArtFare is providing the space as a grant to El Ojito Springs Gallery and Theater in an ongoing effort to support the arts and arts organizations in Tucson.  If you would like information about how to become an ArtFare tenant or how to donate to ArtFare in support the arts in Tucson, send an email to space@artfare.org
