Chantal
Colette Kendrick is an emerging artist currently residing in Tucson, Arizona
with her husband Joshua. Raised in Rochester, New York by a French eclectic
artist mother and French scientist father, Chantal acknowledges and expresses
these seeming opposites in her work. She is currently creating color and
material studies, seeking a balance between loose expression and composition.
Her
background includes classes in Photography, Graphic Design, and Jewelry making,
a year of preparatory art school in Paris, France, most recently a year of
Foundation Art at Alfred University, and of course a lifetime with her mother,
who is an artist is all aspects of her life.
Chantal
often creates two-dimensional work in oil pastel, colored pencil, watercolor and
acrylics, but hopes to venture into installation work and dabble in
three-dimensional pieces as well. As an artist, she loves to explore all aspects
of creativity and considers all moments an opportunity to create. She loves
people, culture, music, travel (to name a few) and considers all experiences
opportunities to learn and express.
